Dr. Allie Wagener

Licensed Sport & Performance Psychologist | Executive Coach
Founder of Achieve Performance Psychology

Dr. Alexandra Wagener, known to most as Dr. Allie, is a licensed psychologist, sport and performance psychologist, and executive coach with nearly 20 years of experience helping people navigate challenges, perform under pressure, and thrive both personally and professionally.

As the founder of Achieve Performance Psychology, Dr. Allie works with individuals across all ages and stages of life, from young athletes just beginning their journeys to Olympic and professional athletes, business executives, coaches, and leaders. Her experience includes working with athletes and organizations across the MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, MLS, PGA, PWHL, and collegiate, Olympic, and Paralympic sports. Whether working one-on-one, consulting with teams, or speaking to organizations, her approach combines evidence-based psychology with practical strategies that support both performance and overall well-being.

A former four-sport athlete (soccer, tennis, gymnastics, and track) and collegiate soccer player, Dr. Allie has always loved a little friendly competition, a good challenge, and the connections that come from being part of a team. Her experiences in sports helped shape her understanding of the lessons that extend well beyond the playing field, from navigating setbacks and building confidence to learning how to show up for yourself and others.

While earning her Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Wichita State University, Dr. Allie gained experience across a variety of clinical settings. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for sport and performance psychology. Combining her love of sports with her interest in understanding people felt like a natural fit. She went on to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), further expanding her expertise in the mental side of performance.

Today, that same passion extends beyond sports. Whether she's working with a professional athlete, business executive, coach, or someone navigating life's everyday challenges, Dr. Allie believes that some of the most meaningful growth happens along the way, not just when we reach the finish line.

At the heart of Dr. Allie's work is connection. She believes that meaningful growth happens through collaboration, curiosity, and helping people recognize the strengths and capabilities they already possess. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, she meets people where they are, helping them navigate challenges, build psychological flexibility, and develop strategies that support both performance and well-being.

Her work often extends beyond the individual. Whether collaborating with coaches and families, supporting leadership teams, or consulting with professional sports organizations, Dr. Allie understands the importance of the people and environments surrounding performance. She brings a practical, evidence-based approach to helping individuals and organizations strengthen communication, build healthier cultures, and navigate the demands of high-pressure environments.

In addition to her individual work, Dr. Allie is a national speaker and consultant, presenting to athletic organizations, healthcare professionals, corporate teams, and business leaders. Her presentations blend psychological research, real-world experiences, and practical strategies, with a healthy dose of humor along the way. From mental health and resilience to leadership, communication, and performing under pressure, she enjoys helping people take what they learn and put it into practice.

Outside of work, Dr. Allie is happiest when she's moving, spending time with people she loves, or finding her next adventure. An avid runner and tennis player, she loves being outdoors, traveling, and spending time at the beach whenever she gets the chance.

She is also the founder of the Achieve Invitational Charity Golf Tournament, which brings people together to support charitable organizations and create greater awareness around mental health and the positive impact of sports.

When she's not working with clients, speaking, or traveling, you'll likely find her at home in Minnesota with her husband, two young children, and their French Bulldog, Chunk. Life is busy, often a little chaotic, and full of the same opportunities to practice what she teaches!
